Laurel Phillips, LSCSW
Laurel Phillips serves as the Clinical Director at Children’s Mercy + Camber Mental Health where she ensures clients receive high quality therapeutic services. She supervises the expressive therapy team and residential therapists and oversees enhancements with clinical services to continually find innovative ways to partner with clients and their families.
With 10 years of social work experience, Laurel brings invaluable experience and passion to help children struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, self-harming, the impacts of trauma, and other mental health conditions. During her career with Camber, she has provided mental healthcare to youth as a Therapist and led clinical teams as Clinical Manager. Prior to her role with Camber, Laurel supported young children and families in Kansas City, Kansas as a Family Support Coordinator.
Laurel has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy. She earned a master’s degree in social work from the University of Kansas and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Creighton University. While completing her master’s degree, Laurel worked with youth in foster care, children and adults experiencing domestic violence, and was deeply involved in research seeking to understand trauma’s impact on brain development and health outcomes.
